Data sharing and privacy (DSP) implementation supports
RISE has begun offering drop-in sessions (30 minutes each), held twice a month from August through the first half of December 2026, where you can pose DSP-related questions to our DSP support team. The team includes three experts in the field:
- Daniel Michaluk, National Co-Leader, Privacy and Cybersecurity, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP
- Katherine Kresta, Senior Consultant, MD+A Health Solutions
- Lauren Black - General Counsel & Chief Legal, Privacy and Compliance Officer, VHA Home HealthCare.
We will soon begin offering training workshops (60 minutes each), with six in the series to be run from mid-September through mid-December, where you can learn more about DSP, including via particular use cases, and again with the involvement of our DSP experts, Daniel, Katherine and Lauren.
Lauren will be available for all of the sessions and workshops, Dan will be available for all but one drop-in session (on 14 October) and two training workshops (on 17 November and 15 December), and Katherine will be available for all but one drop-in session (22 September) and either one or two training workshops (21 October).
We are also planning a privacy toolkit launch webinar on Thursday 8 October, 1-2 pm.
We hope you will register for these optional learning opportunities via the online registration page, where you can choose to attend all sessions, or make selections for specific sessions based on your availability. They are also listed on the OHT supports events calendar, which has specific webpages set up for each of the privacy toolkit launch webinar, the drop-in sessions, and the training workshops.
Please note that we are also:
- supporting a recommended OHT capabilities self-assessment, which is currently ‘open’ until Friday 11 September
- starting an online community of practice in October (or as soon thereafter as it can be set up on Quorum)
- conducting a ‘pulse check’ the weeks of October 5 and January 4.
