Measuring health equity to address inequities in Ontario Health Teams
Since 2020, the Health System Performance Network has produced improvement indicators for Ontario Health Teams. In each iteration of reporting, we have interactively increased the emphasis and improved the approach to evaluating health equity as part of the indicator measurement. From basic stratification to equity ratios and now more advanced indices, including the Relative Index of Inequality and the Slope Index of Inequality (SII). Ontario Health has also just released new performance indicators for OHTs with SII scores for several indicators. In January, we will review various approaches to equity measurement and discuss the ways that OHTs can and should use these measures to address health inequities in their attributed populations. Come learn from the experience of the HSPN, Ontario Health and exemplary OHTs.
