The Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) would like to extend an invitation to all Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) to participate in an upcoming Webinar on August 16, 2023 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm EST. This Webinar is the first of a three-part series, which will aim to provide Ontario Health Teams with the knowledge and skills necessary for meaningful engagement, and to include Indigenous organizations and communities in the planning, design, delivery, and evaluation of health services. The first Webinar will be an awareness session on the training opportunities and tools currently available through IPHCC to support OHTs in their work with Indigenous communities. The session will look at IPHCC’s approach to Indigenous cultural safety, the Anishinaabe Mino’Ayaawin – People in Good Health, which integrates cultural awareness, sensitivity, competency, humility, and safety. Join us as we walk through available and upcoming cultural safety curriculum and resources related to organizational change initiatives, traditional healing, mental health and wellness, community engagement practices, and other resources that provide a model for supporting the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and communities.
