Hub leaders

ESN-CA uses a hub-and-spoke model, and we currently have hubs for four of the eight forms of evidence we consider to be essential in providing timely, demand-driven evidence support:

  1. data analytics hub, which is led by Kim McGrail, CEO and Scientific Director of the Health Data Research Network Canada (email addresses: info@hdrn.ca for requests and kim_mcgrail@sfu.ca for substantive questions about HDRN Canada)
  2. behavioural and implementation research hub, which is led by Justin Presseau, Director of the Centre for Implementation Research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (email address: jpresseau@ohri.ca)
  3. qualitative insights hub, which is led by Stephanie Montesanti, Director of the Collaborative Applied Research for Equity in Health Policy and Systems (CARE) Research Lab at the University of Alberta (email address: montesan@ualberta.ca)
  4. evidence-synthesis hub, which is co-led by Mike Wilson and Kerry Waddell, Scientific Director and Senior Scientific Lead for Evidence Support, respectively, at the McMaster Health Forum (email addresses: esn-ca@mcmaster.ca for requests and wilsom2@mcmaster.ca and waddellk@mcmaster.ca for substantive questions about the evidence-synthesis hub).

We hope to add hubs for the other key forms of evidence, namely, modeling, evaluation, guidelines, and health-technology assessment.
