Lessons learned from reforming the oversight of health workers in the U.K.

Watch the recording from our March 2018 ‘Top Ten‘ webinar: Lessons learned from reforming the oversight of health workers in the U.K.

Many health-system leaders around the world are examining how best to modernize the oversight of their health workforce as they attempt to address the evolving needs of their populations (e.g., an aging population and increasing prevalence of multimorbidity) and an array of new health-system challenges (e.g., rapidly evolving health technologies and growing anti-microbial resistance). A knowledgeable, skilled and motivated health workforce is critical to health systems around the world in order to achieve the best possible care. The Professional Standards Authority leads efforts in the U.K. to ensure that the oversight of health- and social-care professionals is done in a way that optimizes care while protecting the public, and continues to serve as an example for other countries to learn from. In this webinar, Douglas Bilton (Assistant Director of Standards and Policy, Professional Standards Authority) will share lessons learned from reforming the oversight of health workers in the U.K.

Webinars in this series feature top ten insights into health systems, evidence-informed policymaking and a range of key health issues, from Forum experts and influential policymakers, stakeholders and researchers from around the world.
