Tiffany Yu

GSO awardee in Developing Skilled Future Leaders in Strengthening Health and Social Systems (2023)

Tiffany is an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program at McMaster University. She currently works as a research assistant for the Global Health Office at McMaster, where she continues to broaden her interest in, and understanding of, public health and equity. In addition, as one of the Senior Office Leads for Health Systems Evidence (HSE) at the McMaster ForumLab, Tiffany helps to maintain HSE database development alongside a dedicated team of research assistants. She also currently serves as the co-president of Seniors with Skills (SWS) McMaster, and enjoys volunteering within her community in her free time.

As a Global Skills Opportunity (GSO) awardee, Tiffany will travel to South Africa to work with the South Africa Centre for Evidence (SACE). Through this experience, she will learn more about evidence synthesis in the context of South African public health issues and gain greater cultural understanding by working with various local stakeholders. Tiffany hopes to apply these learnings and help further evidence-based health promotion through her upcoming medical studies in Canada.
