Michel Grignon

Adjunct Faculty and Advisor, Social Systems Evidence

Grignon has extensive experience at an international level in research projects and activities in the areas of health economics: aging, health-related policies, and health insurance. His current research covers a broad range of topics, including how an aging society impacts healthcare expenditures in Canada and in France, inequities in health, healthy aging, and healthcare utilization and health policy in Canada, and equity and efficiency in healthcare and long-term care financing.

His focus at the Forum is supporting the addition of content about the social aspects of aging to the McMaster Optimal Aging Portal and to Social Systems Evidence, which provides a significant amount of the aging content to the Portal.

Michel Grignon is editor-in-chief of the journal Health Reform Observer – Observatoire des Réformes de Santé and is also an adjunct scientist at the Institute for Health Economics in Paris, France. He was the Director of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis from July 2011 to April 2017. Before joining McMaster in July 2004, he worked at the Institut de Recherche, d’Etudes et de Documentation en Economie de la Santé (IRDES) in Paris.
