Peter is a student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program and a recipient of the McMaster Health Forum Fellowship for the 2018/19 academic year. He has pursued a broad course of study at McMaster with a focus on the social determinants of health and experiential learning through clinical research. Peter is especially interested in the role of evidence-informed genetic testing in healthcare and the establishment of robust systems to manage the complex healthcare needs of trauma patients. He aims to one day work as a clinician-scientist.
As an outgoing Queen Elizabeth Scholar, Peter will intern with the Africa Centre for Evidence (ACE) located at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. His work will span the Centre’s evidence synthesis portfolio, which produces social policy evidence syntheses to be used by stakeholders across South Africa and other African jurisdictions. Through his internship, Peter hopes to learn more about health systems decision-making and evidence utilization.
