Effectiveness of upstream intersectoral actions targeting the social determinants of health
In efforts to strengthen communities’ capacity to advance intersectoral action on the root causes of health inequities, the Public Health Agency of Canada launched the Intersectoral Action Fund to promote upstream action across sectors to address the social determinants of health, reduce health inequities, and strengthen local resiliency. This evidence synthesis aims to examine what we know about the effectiveness of these types of upstream intersectoral actions on immediate and intermediate outcomes.
