A decade of providing evidence-support for the British Columbia Ministry of Health
We’re excited to continue working with the British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Health to improve health and well-being of British Columbians and increase the sustainability of the BC health system. Through this one-year contract, we will provide demand-driven rapid evidence-syntheses to address pressing health-system issues.
“Our Ministry values its long-standing collaboration with McMaster Health Forum, which provides timely, high-quality evidence syntheses to support evidence-informed health policy and program decisions across many topics and program areas," said Fiona Macpherson, Director Knowledge Mobilization, BC Ministry of Health. "This decision support helps policy makers strengthen policies and improve programs with confidence, and they consistently value the Forum’s responsiveness and the quality of its work.”
The McMaster Health Forum has been providing demand-driven rapid evidence syntheses to Canadian government departments at provincial and federal levels for 15 years, including 10 years of continuous partnership with the BC Ministry of Health. Over the past five years alone, we have produced 31 evidence syntheses for the BC Ministry of Health, many incorporating jurisdictional scans. During this same period, we maintained concurrent evidence support contracts with the Ontario Ministry of Health, Public Health Agency of Canada, Department of National Defence, Veterans Affairs Canada (with funding from the Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence), and Global Affairs Canada.
