Cochrane Canada Centre returns to McMaster University

Cochrane Canada recently announced that the Centre has returned to McMaster University. The new Cochrane Canada Centre will be led by Director Holger Schünemann (Professor and Chair of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics, McMaster University). Dr. John N. Lavis, Director of the McMaster Health Forum, has been named as the Centre's Associate Director.

"The best available information on health is critical for both clinicians and patients in every part of the world including Canada to make the most informed choices," said Director, Holger Schünemann. "The Centre will consider the evidence ecosystem by integrating different types of evidence to facilitate transfer of trustworthy research from bench to bedside to policy. This will include conduct of systematic reviews and provide technology solutions to inform health care recommendations and decision-making to serve Canadians and citizens of the world. Collaboration with Canadian and international partners will be a pillar of the Centre’s work."

Cochrane Canada is the Canadian arm of Cochrane – an independent global network of over 30,000 healthcare practitioners, researchers, patient advocates and others. Cochrane works to turn the evidence generated through research into useful information for making everyday decisions about health.
