Products|Specialty care

Specialty care builds on the foundations set by primary care providers. Specialty care providers (e.g. cardiologists, oncologists, neurologists) focus on a particular aspect of medicine in order to provide exceptional care and treatments. Policymakers face many of the same challenges in improving specialty care as with primary care, including how best to: provide timely and equitable access to care; and, improve care coordination. Where these services are provided and how physicians are compensated for them are among other common challenges. This is especially difficult as technologies change, making some procedures and tests much less costly and, potentially, performed in a broader range of settings. Read our products below for evidence and insights about how the health system building blocks are used to provide care in the specialty care sector.
